Many weight-loss programs pay little attention to the mind body connection, though they are getting better.  Mainly this happens at a conscious level and for some people that’s all that’s required to shake off old dis empowering habits.

However, nothing is more important than how the mind is communicating with the body, especially when it comes to stress or deep seethed beliefs.

Let’s just look at stress for a moment as for many of us it’s like a rash we can’t get rid of in our daily lives.  Now while our lives may be complicated our body response to stress is very simple.  Every time you have mental or emotional (struggle/anxiety), your body produces chemical changes as your ancestral survival programs kicks in.

Our subconscious mind has two main jobs, No 1 SURVIVE, survive at all costs. No 2 Feel SAFE and COMFORTABLE.  Food is fundamental to our survival. When our ancestors were lucky enough to come home with a kill, they filled their stomachs by the fire, sat back and thought “great I feel safe and comfortable I WILL SURVIVE”.  We associate food with feeling safe and comfortable at a very primeval level.

However, we also have the FLIGHT or FIGHT response to SURVIVAL.  If our auto response is flight we under eat when stressed as the message we receive is “I need to be as light as possible to get the hell out of here as fast as possible”.  However, if the auto response fightit triggered the message, “I need to look as large as possible to frighten off the enemy”.  Either way we are trying to protect our-self, the fact that we may or may not be in any physical danger is irrelevant to the subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind does not know the difference between reality and imagination it responds to our thoughts.

There may be many reasons why we feel we need to protect ourselves and our body program believes it needs to be the size it is.  Getting to the root of emotions and beliefs using hypnotherapy and EFT can change the internal program running which sets you free to lose weight.
