Footsteps in the sand

I’m not talking about chronic depression or bipolar rather that more common feeling of being STUCK.  Have you ever felt this way? Do you still feel like this now? Essentially, this is where you become so used to feeling helpless that you believe it’s normal or at least normal for you.  This can impact your life by feelings of being trapped in a toxic relationship, being bullied at work or feeling scared that you will never be successful. You find yourself being defensive, blaming others or feel they are critical of you. You’re struggling to feel their love and support.

The Mind Body Connection – Your body may be showing tell-tale signs like constant, back ache, knee pain, sore throats. Our mind and body are indeed connected. Amazing how you can find excuses for all these ailments rather than listening to what they want to tell you. When we believe that we are a helpless, hopeless human, we are running the ‘victim program’.  This is not a time for denial rather a time to ask for help. 

The Blind Spot- That ‘victim program’ is driving the whole show. The chances are you are not consciously aware of what is at the root of the feeling, and that is what makes it so difficult to tackle.  The ‘victim program’ is sitting in your sub-conscious, running automatically unobserved, firing off when under stress or trigger buttons pushed.  Most of the time life can run smooth as you have learned lots of coping strategies along the way.

Before establishing myself as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I worked for many years in International Business in the UK and the Far East. During that time it occurred to me that I had lost touch with who I was. One brave day I resigned from my job in Hong Kong and set off on my own life’s adventure. Attending training, conferences, and workshops around the world as part of my commitment to continuous growth and development for my life adventure. There is a great sense of joy from meeting like-minded people, sharing experiences and always gaining new insights. Cycling, toastmasters, travelling, pilates and volunteering at my local community arts center are some my joys in life. Reading has always been a great source of inspiration.
